This week at the farmers market: 6/7/2008

It’s really summer now. Yesterday I got my first summer squash of the season. Little tiny ones. Aren’t they cute? Strawberries are everywhere and shelling peas are out now too. I got some young red onions and green garlic and a head of deep red, curly-leafed lollo rosso lettuce. And I got some milk and a delicious sourdough baguette and a big hunk of cheese that’s sort of like a cheddar.

Then I bought a cup of rosemary sorbet, and found a cool shady spot under a tree. It was so delicious and refreshing that I just may have to get myself an ice cream maker.
